Australian Shepherds & Vizslas

A small tribute page, to some of our friends who have passed over the Rainbow Bridge.

JFCoventry Aussies - Vizslas

Miska   April 1994 - October 2009

Shawnric's Kedves Miska - "Miska"; flyball dog extrordinaire; best huntress. She is Rob's first Vizsla and hunting partner. She taught Rob all about flyball and a little of agility. Miska was the number 1 vizsla in NAFA flyball for many many years. She is now the retired matriarch of our family and beloved couch companion of Rob's.

Xena   January 1997 - December 2010

CH JFCoventry's Warrior Princess - "Xena" - was born in 1997; she is Miska's daughter. Xena finished her CKC championship with ease although she was extremely hard on her handler. She also excelled at hunting and flyball and general bed warmer. Xena was kind of pushy and generally got what she wanted! She was such a sweetie!

Xena lost her battle with cancer in 2010. She is now free to hunt the fields and race the winds beyond the Bridge. Goodbye, dear Zeen Zeen - you are with your momma Miska once again.

You are forever in our hearts.

Ede  April 1997 - October 2011Thornhill's Ede - "Ede" (Eddie) - born 1997; what can I say about Ede? He was one of a handful of wire haired vizslas in Canada. Ede loved life and all it had to offer. He was a retired flyball dog who was a well-known lovable goofball of the flyball circuit. Ede is still the Number One NAFA registered WH Vizsla. Ede was an "uncle" to our vizsla litters and to our aussie litters. He was the most forgiving soul and lived to play. And under all that hair, he had a brain that actually worked!

Sadly, we had to put Ede down Oct. 16, 2011. He lived a good life, full of love and laughter - and other than we wish he could have lived longer, we have no regrets. Ede was our clown, our puppy babysitter, and he brought joy to all who met him. We miss him.

Cassi   1993 - 2010

Cassi was a Himalayan cat but I think she was an aussie-vizsla wannabe; we adopted Cassi from the Winnipeg Humane Society in July, 1996. Cassi has been a warm and fuzzy addition to our family and was wonderfully tolerant of all our dogs and puppies. She was always a sweet lap warmer and loving companion.

RAINBOW BRIDGE

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....
